Silver Street Mission… We’ve been around for a long time in our former guise as Marrickville Baptist Church, 120 years, in fact.

In August 1999, we changed our name to Silver Street Mission because we are determined that we are in mission. We are not just a club for elderly Baptists!

That doesn’t mean we don’t have room for older people. We have a good age spread, but we all work together like a big family.

You might be scared that we might “come on too strong”, being a mission. You will hear the gospel preached here. But we won’t twist your arm. Everyone must personally discover the truth of Christ: we will gladly point you along the way, but you alone can choose to walk it.

We don’t believe in, “Get them saved, and the rest will look after itself.” We are saved to serve, and that means tackling the world we live in. Want to see justice and righteousness prevail, because those are God’s concerns. We want to see more love in the world, because God is love. We want to see salvation come to individuals and families so that people can move ahead in life instead of being trapped by Angst for eternity.

At our website, www.atsilverstreet.com, you will see the program as it develops. At this site, www.silverstreet-au.com, you will see what we are thinking.

We look forward to your company on our journey!

Peter
